Presented by Rob Owen, Director MACE Ltd

Rob will discuss three examples of challenges confronted by the project planners and schedulers in the UK that were tamed by Synchro Professional. The three projects include a £9bn new capacity nuclear power plant, the EU's tallest building, and a major renovation during continuous station operations at Birmingham New Street Station, one of Britain's largest train station hubs.

Caleb will discuss jobsite management challenges confronted on a major bridge project in Chesapeake, VA. The Gilmerton Bridge Replacement. Learn how to cut job site meeting times in half and synchronise the critical contributions required to complete this complex and demanding project.

Advanced User Case Study Experience 3:
Rich DeLacy & Thai Q. Nguyen, Hensel Phelps Construction Co.

Rich and Thai will discuss as the project super and Corporate BIM director for a major Keiser Permanente hospital in California he manages the project scheduling process and the impacts that Synchro has made on the traditional planning and communications process for the project.

Advanced User Case Study Experience 4:
Chris Pechacek, VDC Director, McCarthy Building Companies, Inc.

Chris will discuss VDC innovations and his work with Synchro, which dates back to his work at the Sacramento Airport pursuit at Turner Construction. Chris will present his newest initiative integrating processes in the field at the Kaiser Permanente Oakland Hospital Replacement Project Phase II, a one million-square-foot multi-building complex in a city location that includes a twelve-story 651,463-sq-ft hospital, two-story 34,278-sq-ft central utility plant and the four-story, 229,560-sq-ft hospital support building as well as many public utility and site improvements.

Donald will open the discussions to compare past experiences with current experiences of introducing BIM to students in an advanced construction project management course, Donald will highlight the key ingredients needed for successful introduction of BIM in these programs. He will also include future directions to pursue to meet the AEC industries need for a highly skilled workforce.

Eric will highlight the university programme participants and the coming year's activities from our sponsorship at this year's Association of Construction Schools Annual Meeting to our university sponsored Synchro Professional Road Show

Presented by Neil Gordon & Cathy Morgan, Mortenson Construction

Through Mortenson VDC timeline, Neil and Cathy will highlight how Synchro 4D BIM helps Mortenson IDAT to identify and solve their building problems. From first knowing Synchro to software testing, from solving the issues to implementing it to the entire team, from the past Synchro training to its future testing and training plan, they will provide Mortenson's first-hand experience of using Synchro via various construction projects.

User conferences are designed to provide a place to learn from fellow users, share experiences and understand how to get the most from the software. It must also provide a look into the future. In the final session of the programme Tom will take us into the future and see the world through the eyes of the Synchro user in 2020 and then close the day with a few words of thanks to this year's participants.
